Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a drugless healing art that establishes and maintains proper spinal and extra-spinal alignment. It facilitates proper joint motion and enhances the body's ability to function at a higher level of energy through proper neurological communication. Chiropractic treatment is administered through controlled forces (called adjustments) applied to the spinal joints, which restore motion to restricted areas and improve function.

The Chiropractic FAQ

How is chiropractic used to treat injuries? When injuries occur, inflammation and swelling of the soft tissues result in stiffness, pain, and muscle spasm. Over time, the injured body creates excess scar tissue, resulting in loss of function, decreased range of motion, increased risk of re-injury, and accelerated degeneration. Chiropractic adjustments help restore motion, block pain, restore normal sensation, relax tight muscles, remove swelling, and accelerate healing. Your chiropractor may also apply heat or cold to remove fluid from injured areas.

How does chiropractic differ from medical treatment? In contrast to traditional Western medicine, chiropractic provides holistic pain relief and healing, focusing on the whole person rather than on isolated symptoms. Thus, it maintains the integrity of the nervous system without drugs or surgery, encouraging the body's own healing capacity and a healthful lifestyle.

What conditions can be treated with chiropractic? Chiropractic is used to treat a number of musculo-skeletal injuries and conditions, including: Neck and Back Pain, Headaches, Arthritis, Work Related Injuries, Auto Accident-Related Injuries, Sports Injuries, Repetitive Strain Injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis / Golfers Elbow, Shoulder Conditions, Nerve Entrapment Syndromes, and Sciatica.
